hi all,
Well I just picked up my new creative Xfi soundcard, and it sounds lovely. But I'm having one specific problem with it. Jaws is often cut off when no other sounds are playing, The final sylibal of many words just doesn't come through. For example, jaws usually says ling, not link, ETC. Any idea how to fix this one?
thanks
MJ
I have heard of that problem it actually occurs on one of my other systems. I'm not sure if there is a specific fix for it. I've noticed that jaws is a little bit quirky and choppy on a variety of sound cards.
This isn't a Jaws issue. It is a soundcard issue. If you listen very carefully at the end of a song that fades out for example I'm fairly certain you'll hear the same thing happening. Ever since I first saw this board a few days ago I've been racking my brain trying to remember what I did to fix it. Sadly it was two years ago though and I'm not coming up with any answers. I can tell you that it can be fixed because I too am using a Creative X-Fi soundcard and it works just fine. I should say that I fixed the problem on a Realtec soundcard not the Creative one, but it would appear to be exactly the same problem. It was as simple as unchecking a checkbox, I just can't remember whhich one. If my memory should make a belated return though, I'll be sure and let you know.

Indeed, I'd look into another sound card.
Why. That would be stupid. As I said, the problem can be easily fixed just by changing one setting is all. Hardly any need for going over board and chucking out the whole soundcard. It is a very good soundcard in fact.
